The survivor? Malcolm Landgraab VI
Milton had spared the younger Malcolm who went off to university. While there he met Alicia Menon and got engaged to her. See the Growing Sim blogpost to read about it.
Well, Alicia and Malcolm decided to drop out of university and moved to Veronaville where they found a cheap house. Alicia was keen to start her new life with Malcolm and organised a party for the wedding. She invited Milton Landgraab, erroneously thinking he was a relative Malcolm would want to be there.
It was all set and Alicia was ready to start – she had to marry him for him to get her surname, as promised by Malcolm. But then, the unthinkable happened…
Malcolm refused to go through with it and walked away!
Alicia was devastated.
She couldn’t understand it. He loved her didn’t he?
He tried to explain to her when she got over the initial shock.
But she refused to listen to him. He’d shamed her in front of her parents and friends. The relationship was dead.
Milton watched all this with interest.
So Malcolm had refused to marry and change his name. Milton would be watching Malcolm to see if he tried to get back to Bluewater.
Naturally the “wedding” party was a complete disaster and the guests headed home rather embarrassed.
Alicia went completely loopy.
(They hadn’t even started on redecorating the house.)
Alicia wasn’t sure she could continue living with Malcolm. She phoned up a friend to talk about it.
Meanwhile, Malcolm (who hadn’t cooked a meal in his life) tried to make macaroni cheese. The kitchen caught fire.
But then Malcolm remembered the fire extinguisher and had a go.
But the fire spread and it all got too much. Alicia was totally oblivious.
By now Alicia was off the phone and realised what was happening. But it was too late.
There was no going back from death.
There was a thunderstorm that night. To rub salt in Alicia’s wounds, the wedding arch was struck by lightning and caught fire.
So the last of the original Landgraabs is dead. Malcolm the sixth chose his own fate without any planning on my part!

Postscript: Alicia moved into an apartment next door to a young couple with baby. She had an affair with the husband and is now pregnant.
